Presentation of the colloquium’s scientific objectives, the Franco–South African cooperation framework, and key contemporary issues surrounding disability participation.
10:00 – 11:30 | Panel 1 – Disability, Capabilities and Multidimensional Poverty
This first panel will explore the relationship between disability, social inequalities and participation through economic and sociological perspectives.
Discussions will address the capability approach, multidimensional poverty, and structural mechanisms shaping opportunities for social and economic participation.

11:45 – 12:45 | Interactive Dialogue – Field Perspectives and Community Initiatives
This interactive session will give the floor to associations, practitioners and community stakeholders working in the disability sector in order to connect academic perspectives with practical realities on the ground.
Discussions will highlight everyday challenges, emerging needs and concrete initiatives developed to foster participation and social inclusion.

This panel will address the challenges surrounding labour market transition and employment retention among young persons with disabilities.
Discussions will examine institutional and social barriers, support mechanisms, public policies, and organisational practices that foster professional inclusion.

15:45 – 17:15 | Panel 3 – Early Career Researchers and Research Roadmaps
This session will showcase ongoing work by PhD candidates and early-career researchers on disability, inclusion and social policy.
It will foster collective reflection on emerging research priorities, current gaps in the field, and future avenues for international collaboration.
